I wanted to blog about my physical therapy appointment now that 5 weeks or so has passed. I've been going M/W/F to PT now for about 5ish weeks. It is coming along really slow but he is stretching me out as each week passes. He told me even today that all my muscles in the hip area or so so so tight. He can't believe it (I can- I've had to live with the pain). So he put these pulsing pads on the tight muscles and heats them for 30 minutes. Then him and his "helper" stretch the shit out of me for 10-12 minutes. Forcefully but slowly if that makes sense. When he is done I am always cold. I get into my car I turn on the heater for a minute. I asked him about that and he said it was from pain. He told me "what were doing here to you is hard and your tolerating it well but I'm sure it's uncomfortable and painful". So I shake for 4-5 minutes after therapy. It passes and with each visit and stretching at home on my own I can now touch my left toe! Yeah! I can almost cross my left leg on to my right leg. I could not do that at all a few weeks ago. Still a struggle but it's coming back slowly. My muscles are so tight from years of compensating and eating the pain. I was stubborn! Fact is it is going to take awhile even after I'm done with PT as this took years for these muscles to get this tight. I am noticing that going up steps are easier on my left side, I can touch my left toe (barley), and while in the pool I notice certain moves are becoming easier or they feel different. I am trying really really hard to work on my posture. Shoulders back and up straight. It's tough! I feel awkward holding my shoulders back so far but know when I stand up straight I don't look awkward- I just feel awkward for now. I also got these new walking shoes in Pasadena called MBT (http://www.swissmasaius.com/) The shoes improve your posture and distributes your weight when your walking. Your foot rolls in them and they feel great. I was sold when I tried some on. I love them. Pricey, but my whole

so that's my short story... LOL
