I love your blog award

Thank you Amber - for awarding me with my first blog award!! :) Thanks!! http://workingongfreedom.blogspot.com/

So from here I'm passing it on...

Part of accepting the award is:

*displaying the award
*linking back to the person who gave it to you
*paying it forward & nominating 7 blogs
*adding links to those seven blogs
*leaving comments on their blog telling them you gave them an award
*enjoying the award!!

Today I nominate:
Of course Jenn! Read this sign- http://signgurl.blogspot.com/ This is a woman on fire! She has grown in many ways over the last two years I've been following her blog and weight loss. She has taken her life and the changes that have happened to her and learned to become proud of herself a little more each day. And she got the greatest smile. She inspires me!

My friend Amber! Weight Loss Battle- http://amber-weightloss.blogspot.com/ I can't even remember where I found Amber's blog, but I'm happy I did. I came along her story right about the time we both had weight loss surgery. We have encouraged each other for two plus years now. And every time she left me a message I smiled and felt like I had a friend. We kind of watched over each other with "good" wishes and "way to go" for the past two years. I knew I could count on her honesty.

Scott! Bald is Beautiful- http://www.bald-is-beautiful.com/ Absolutely Scott! This is a family man, in love with his family. Refreshing! He is honest, has a honest outlook on life and the things it brings us good or bad. He is straight forward, a great cook, god loving family gentleman. I love his blog along with his recipes he shares with us that him and his wife have mastered.

Sarah. Morbidly Obtuse- http://morbidly-obtuse.blogspot.com/ Pretty new blogger I just found surfing though other blogs. I'm going to enjoy watching her shrink! She is excited and looking for support that we all need some days. I'm enjoying getting to know Sarah. Check it out.

Sweet Rose... Rose's Blog- http://minigastricbypassrus.ning.com/profiles/blog/list?user=sfqp4qe8n7c6 I met Rose when she asked me to be one of her contacts for WLS. We talked by e mail, I shared my story and have kept in touch ever since. And she's doing great. Woo Hoo Rose! There is just something special about Rose. A lady that loves her family and is loving her new health. She is just one of those people that makes you smile when she talks, because she's real. She is doing vlogs on YouTube too, which is fun too. I wish I had her guts to make vlogs myself. http://www.youtube.com/user/rosewolfe48

Taunia
- DIVA TAUNIA- http://divatauniabackstagepass.blogspot.com/ Taunia is fun, cute, silly and not only does she blog, she vlogs. She vlogs more than she blogs but either way I enjoy her. This girls got spunk and voice on her that is amazing and she's one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen. It's her spirit that makes her a DIVA. She shares what's on her mind and is only looking to better herself, share her story and have some fun along the way. Check her out on YouTube 2: http://www.youtube.com/user/divataunia

Barb
- A Phoenix Rising- http://barbswls.blogspot.com/ This girl can write. The way she lays her words on paper is so well put and honest. Start at the beginning of this blog and see how much she has grown and the way she writes. She is a warrior! She went from being a 300 pound woman that will admit going to the mail box was hard before losing 145 pounds. And now she has run a marathon. She pushed herself and is a strong, warm hearted WARRIOR.

Wednesday Weirdness

1. If you could only eat one fruit for an entire year and that fruit would magically be in season and ripe that full year, which fruit would you choose and why? Apples- I think apples. The other day we were eating apples while on a car ride. I was just telling my hubby on that ride "that apples are so so yummy and I feel like I'm cheating and having something bad for me". There sweet, crunchy and wonderful. Almost as good as chocolate!

2. What is something that makes you sad? Oh jeez... depends on the week. A TV show can make me sad on one day. LOL But usually seeing my son hurt him self. Watching your kids hurt is hard on a mommy.

3. What would you do if you came home from an extended vacation and found that someone else was living in your house? Well if they messed up my clean house I might just have to kill them. LOL All share but take your shoes off and don't mess with my clean floor! :)

4. What US President, alive or otherwise, would you like to have dinner with? Barack Obama BABY! I'd also like to sit and speak with Hillary or Bill Clinton.

5. What is your opinion on multitasking while driving? (Reading a book or work documents, changing clothes, fixing hair, applying make up, shaving your face, et cetera) LOL BAD, BAD, BAD...

6. Do you ever multitask while driving? I'm pretty good about paying attention while driving. But I am famous for changing my CD's and looking for another while one eye is on the road. I usually can't see anything unless my reading glasses are on my nose, so there's no use reading and driving cause I can't see it unless my reading glasses are on. Scary, I just put I can't see and driving in the same sentence. :)

7. Do you tend to be early, on time, or fashionably late? I'm a early bird and a on time person. Drives me crazy to be late!

8. What is a quirk your significant other has that you would define as "cute"? It's not really a quirk but... Derrel is not going to want me to "label" him and anything with the word CUTE. LOL But, my hubby and my cat-dog Rufus are cute. How is spoils Rufus is cute. Big ol man with a 7 pound Chihuahua in his arms. Cuts up and feeds him food one bite at a time, tucks him in his robe in the mornings to keep him ward, lets Rufus ride on his shoulders in the car. Aww Now that's cute!

Bear on treadmill

Once when I was at the YMCA using the treadmill I fell off the thing. Jumped up, looked around to see if anyone saw me. Thank goodness no one saw me. PHEW It's funny now, but painful then.

Think I'll stick to the pool. :)

The End...

I've been thinking and throwing around the thought of NOT blogging anymore. Do these people really want to read about my day to day life now that I'm done losing weight? My boring life? I mean I can't just keep boasting about how good I feel these days. I thought "should I start a new blog?". Nah This blog lays it on the line and is part of who I am. Why do we stop blogging after the honeymoon is over for us? I find very few blogs after the honeymoon period is over and people just stop talking. Why? Guess were so excited when we watch our self shrink we have to share. But why stop sharing and learning from each other? I know for me I couldn't wait to share I was down another pound or another size. My friends here have given me support, nice words, understanding and acceptance. So to each of you- thank you for being my cyber friend and my support. There is a few of you that I would hate to lose contact with as you have become my friend even though we have never met in person. I've watch many of you shrink, grow inside, learn and become healthier happier people. And there is several I'm still watching shrink to this day.

So why is it people stop blogging after sometime has passed? In my world everything is not PERFECT even after weight loss surgery. There is no reason we still can't talk about it. Share and learn from each other. I feel more control now over my habits but food and somethings are still just the same as before they rearranged my stomach and insides. I still can not have "treats" in my house. I find it easier if there just not around me in my normal day life. They still can nag me to death knowing it's in the house. For instance... last week were at Winco grocery, (bulk foods) so I bought 20-25 of those pumpkin candy corns. Rather than buy a whole bag I can just buy a few. Still my head knew they were in the house and now there gone. So you understand they staple your stomach, re route your intestines but not the head. Years of bad habits and routines and such take time to change. I'm still working on those changes to this day. Who is Susy, who has Susy grown into? And most of all I don't want to let myself down anymore. I know what I have to do. It's really quite clear. I can have foods/snack and such that are not healthy for me. From time to time and in moderation. The fact is I perform and most of all I feel better eating the bland same ol foods I love from day to day. My diet of protein drinks, yogurt, chicken, salad, raw veggies, cottage cheese, tuna, eggs, ham, turkey, apples and such just make me feel the best from day to day. When I eat these foods I don't crash and I don't have bad meal experiences. Give me a cookie-I still want another tomorrow. I'm just better off NOT HAVING THE COOKIE at all. Maybe from time to time but keep the ice cream and cookies out of my reach/house. So sorry family. :) I also like the fact that my surgery controls me. I know I may become sick if I indulge in too much. Surgically enhanced behavior modification- I really believe that statement. It worked for me and I needed help. It didn't make it perfect, but it did put me on the same playing field as others and gave me a fighting chance. I will not let myself down. I'm learning that this is a life long battle. And to live in this body, to be happy and honest for the rest of my days... I have to live with no regrets with anything I could of changed by doing or being better. And not let myself down anymore.

I will keep blogging.....so get used to me being around. My blog keeps me honest and accountable. So this is not the end, this is the middle. I'll find something to write about. I may get boring or post silly things trying to make you laugh but I'm not done blogging about my skinny self. I'm really quite boring. LOL I do know that I am caring, soft hearted, honest, sweet, grouchy, skinny red head you'll ever not meet! :)

I must say for turning 41 today... i feel great. My life has really changed. I am thankful for every moment of it!

I got spoiled this morning with some very nice gifts. I got a gift certificate to Zappo.com that I can't wait to spend. (thank you Scott and Barb) I got candles, a new leather coat (size M). *I can't wait to get dressed today. :) 4 packs of gum, a gift card to TJ Maxx and lots of people being nice with there wishes! It's a Good day!

At 4pm I'm off to meet Derrel's mom @ Starbucks (yes I'll get green tea) for a chat and a hug and then I'm to pick up my hubby from work. Tonight we got a room on the ocean. The room also has a jet tub...and you know what the best part is???? I can stand up in the bath tub now. With out getting on my knees in pain and pushing myself up and crawling out of the tub like I have my whole life.

I'm telling you... it's the little things I'm thankful for!

Yes i have had a cup of coffee from time to time and have had a sip or two of wine/beer a few times. Just a cup of Folders once in awhile. But I sure do miss a good espresso, just like I thought I would. In the beginning (before surgery) I was more worried about giving up the coffee rather than having to give up food. I was correct in my thinking. :) My Dr. would not approve of me having a glass of wine once a year or having a coffee @ all. It's a big no, no with him. I'm sure the MGB police will be here anytime. I have been success full in giving up all together my morning coffee. I did that even before surgery. That was one of my habits I got rid of before surgery in Feb. 2007. I try really hard NOT to have coffee and liquor. Liquor of any kind is not a problem in my life. Don't really miss it, don't really care, so I don't drink it.

But NO- I'm not perfect and yes I have drank a cup of coffee!

LOL
